Mission

What is NOLA 180°?
NOLA 180° is a charter management organization designed to turnaround failing schools in New Orleans.

Langston Hughes Academy
Our flagship school, Langston Hughes Academy (LHA), is a K–8 charter school that prepares low-income students for competitive high schools and college. LHA scholars attend school for 9 hours each day and take classes that emphasize college readiness and character development. Langston Hughes Academy has been featured in the Newshour with Jim Lehrer, CNN, New York Times Magazine, Washington Post, USA Today and the Times Picayune.

The mission of all schools operated by NOLA 180 is to send all students to college by preparing them for the city’s selective admissions public and private high schools. In 2011, the organization will deploy a turnaround team from Langston Hughes Academy to turn around a failing public school in New Orleans.
