Mark Martin, Elementary School Principal
Mark Martin is the Elementary School Principal for Langston Hughes Academy. Mr. Martin taught first grade in Atlanta for three years as a part of the Teach For America program. In his second year at Carter G. Woodson Elementary, he was distinguished as Employee of the Year for his commitment to his students and the school culture. Mr. Martin was the first grade chairperson and also chaired the school leadership team, which developed and implemented new academic and operational ideas for the school. Mr. Martin earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Alabama and an MBA from The University of Georgia.
Jeanyll Morris, Middle School Principal
Jeanyll Morris is the Middle School Principal for Langston Hughes Academy. Ms. Morris is a recent graduate from the nationally acclaimed New Leaders for New Schools principal training program. Ms. Morris has six years of teaching experience in Atlanta public schools. During her time in Atlanta, she served as teacher and grade level chair for grades K, 2, and 4. Ms. Morris also served as a mentor teacher for the 2006 Teach for America training institute in Atlanta, GA. Ms. Morris earned a bachelor degree from Hampton University in Marketing and an MBA from Auburn University. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Michael Allweiss, Chairman, Board of Trustees
Mickey Allweiss is a partner at Lowe, Stein, Hoffman, Allweiss & Hauver, L.L.P., a firm that provides legal services in general business and civil matters. Michael R. Allweiss has substantial and significant experience in insurance and traditional tort based cases, complex commercial litigation, products liability, professional liability, and employment law. Mr. Allweiss earned his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and his law degree from Tulane University. He is also an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at Tulane University School of Law.
